Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Edifecs Application Engineer Location: Remote Department: Veterans Affairs (VA) Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Experienced Security Clearance Level: Public Trust (MBI) Salary Range: $85,389 - $116,975 If you have previously applied to Syms Strategic Group (SSG), there is no need to reapply. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and enhance the Edifecs platform, ensuring reliable and compliant Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transaction processing • Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder, and related modules • Build, deploy, and optimize Edifecs processing rules, routing logic, and batch workflows • Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, functional errors, and performance bottlenecks • Manage system logging, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning, and certificate/keystore configurations • Support release deployments, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades • Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams Required Skills and Experience • Strong knowledge of EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles • Strong experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills • A hands-on understanding of the platform architecture and operational behaviors across the following: • Edifecs XEServer (orchestrations, batch flows, execution contexts) • XEngine (validation, rulesets, canonical structures) • TPM (trading partner configuration, routes, agreements) • EDI Gateway (visibility, audit, search, and reprocessing) • SpecBuilder (Implementation Guide (IG) definitions, map development) • Experience with EDI Integration and Interface Management of all technical aspects of inbound/outbound connectivity, consistent with the following: • Applicability Statement 2 (AS2)
