About this role

Summary As a Software Development Lead on the OnVUE team, you will provide technical leadership for one or more product development squads supporting Pearson VUE's flagship remote proctoring platform. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of scalable software solutions, mentoring engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives. In addition to being a strong individual contributor, you will provide day-to-day technical leadership, facilitate architectural discussions, conduct design and code reviews, establish engineering standards, and guide the team's adoption of modern development practices. You will partner closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Product Architects, Quality Engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, reliable, and highly scalable solutions. This role requires strong expertise in both front-end and back-end development, cloud-native architectures, and modern software engineering practices. The Product OnVUE is Pearson VUE's remote proctoring platform, enabling candidates to take high-stakes exams securely from anywhere in the world. The platform provides real-time video monitoring, advanced security capabilities, and interactive proctoring experiences to support millions of test takers globally. The product remains a strategic investment area for Pearson VUE and continues to grow in scale, functionality, and complexity.
