About this role
About The Role Total Wine & More is seeking Lead Accountant, to join our Finance & Accounting team in our Bethesda, MD office. This role is responsible for leading the forecasting, analysis, tracking, reconciliation, and validation of federal excise tax credit opportunities related to eligible imported beverage gallons, including programs administered under the Craft Beverage Modernization Act (CBMA). The Lead will coordinate closely with importers, suppliers, merchandising partners, and internal finance teams to ensure accurate gallon requests, timely claim submissions, effective discrepancy resolution, and compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. In addition, this role will support monthly financial statement analysis for strategic partners, reconcile financial statements to billing structures, and drive process improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, audit readiness, and overall financial workflow integrity. Advanced skills in Excel and experience with, or desire to learn Power BI will be essential for forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and ongoing business support. While prior CBMA experience is beneficial, we encourage candidates who are eager to learn and build expertise in this specialized area. This role will report to the Sr. Manager FP&A.
