About this role
Join Nursa's growing network of dedicated and experienced registered nurses (RNs) finding high-paying per diem job opportunities in Silver Spring, Maryland. Registered nurses provide and coordinate care in a variety of settings on the Nursa platform including hospitals, long-term care (LTC) centers, assisted living facilities (ALFs), skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), outpatient centers, home health services, dialysis clinics, and other types of healthcare facilities. RN responsibilities: Although work duties can vary depending on the setting and specialty, your responsibilities may include the following. • Collect information and assess a patient's condition by taking vital signs and medical history, performing physical examinations and observations, and analyzing laboratory and diagnostic tests • Monitor, record, and report patient responses and any changes in condition using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and coordinate patient care plans • Supervise licensed practical/vocational nurses, nurse assistants, and other support staff as needed • Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments as prescribed • Perform clinical procedures including wound care, specimen collection, and emergency response protocols • Prepare shift handoff reports using SBAR or facility-specific tools to ensure continuity of care • Advocate for the best interests of the patient and serve as a communicator between the patient and the healthcare team • Educate patients and family members about health promotion, disease prevention, treatment procedures, and self-care management, and offer emotional support • Safeguard protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict infection control standards using proper PPE • Document and report safety events and ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility-mandated procedures RN qualifications: RNs
