BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & SALES REPRESENTATIVE Burke Sporting Goods | Fairfax, Virginia We’re looking for a HUNTER — someone who knows how to find business, win business, and grow it. Burke Sporting Goods (BSG) is a locally owned, established business with approximately 25 years of experience providing screen printing, embroidery, apparel, promotional products and related services to businesses, schools, organizations, teams and events throughout Northern Virginia and beyond. We’re looking for a motivated Business Development & Sales Representative to join our team and help take our sales efforts to the next level. This isn't simply an order-taking position. We want someone who will actively create business. THE OPPORTUNITY You'll have three important responsibilities: 1. DEVELOP NEW BUSINESS You will be responsible for actively identifying and pursuing new customers. This includes: • Cold calling and prospecting • Email outreach • Networking and referrals • In-person prospecting and relationship building • Identifying companies and organizations that are good BSG prospects • Developing your own book of business • Turning prospects into long-term customers We want someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, opening doors and creating opportunities. 2. CLOSE INBOUND OPPORTUNITIES BSG is developing an aggressive marketing and internet outreach program designed to generate new sales opportunities. Those opportunities may come from: • Website inquiries • Targeted email campaigns • Product promotions • Flash sales • Corporate-targeted promotions • School and organization campaigns • Promotional product campaigns • Other BSG marketing initiatives You'll be responsible for responding to, qualifying, developing and closing those opportunities. 3. HELP BUILD THE SALES & MARKETING MACHINE This is an important part of the position. We don't want our salesperson simply waiting for marketing to hand over a lead.
