We are looking for a dependable Office Assistant to support front desk coverage and day-to-day workplace operations in Washington, District of Columbia. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating an organized, welcoming office environment while handling administrative tasks with accuracy and professionalism. The role will interact with visitors, employees, and vendors and help keep office services, meeting spaces, and workstations running smoothly.Responsibilities:• Welcome visitors and callers, provide general office information, and connect inquiries to the appropriate team members for further assistance.• Manage incoming phone traffic by answering calls courteously, screening requests, and recording detailed messages when needed.• Help administer office access items such as key-fobs and identification badges while maintaining accurate tracking records.• Support workspace changes and staff moves by coordinating workstation preparation, packing assistance, inventory handling, vendor communication, and follow-up after relocation activities.• Monitor shared office equipment and replenish essential supplies so items such as copiers, printers, and breakroom machines remain operational.• Maintain inventory levels for everyday office materials and arrange replenishment orders to avoid shortages.• Process incoming and outgoing packages, prepare shipping documentation, and distribute mail throughout the office in a timely manner.• Keep conference rooms, kitchens, copy areas, and other shared spaces tidy, stocked, and ready for staff and guest use, including scheduling support when requested.• Assist with administrative updates in travel and expense systems, including setting up or closing user profiles as directed.• Prepare desks and equipment for new hires and coordinate workstation cleanout steps for departing employees with the appropriate managers.
