About this role
A growing organization in the College Park area is seeking a Project Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of project financial activities, work closely with operations teams, and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong growth potential. Key Responsibilities: • Manage project accounting activities, including project setup, billing, invoicing, accounts payable, and collections • Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation • Monitor project financial performance and maintain accurate accounting records • Serve as a key contact for billing inquiries and collection efforts • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and support project execution • Maintain project documentation, including contracts and certificates of insurance (COIs) • Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency Qualifications: • 1-3 years of accounting experience • Experience with project-based accounting required • Background in billing, accounts payable, invoicing, and collections • Strong Excel and accounting software skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills • Construction industry experience or Spectrum software experience is a plus Why Join? • Stable, growing organization • Collaborative team environment • Strong career advancement opportunities • Comprehensive benefits package • Opportunity to own key project accounting responsibilities
