About HCCI The Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) is an independent, non-profit research institute located in Washington, D.C. with a mission to use data and analytics to improve the US health care system. Join the Team that Informs the Health Care Decision Making We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our dynamic team working to advance HCCI's mission. This position is ideal for candidates with extensive experience working with health care claims data and who are seeking opportunities to conduct high-profile analytics. The Data Analyst will support HCCI's efforts to provide employers and other stakeholders information to help them make informed decisions to improve the value of health care. The Data Analyst will: • Write and optimize complex SQL queries against large relational claims databases to develop and maintain reports on health care prices, utilization, spending, and quality. • Proactively and independently navigate database schemas to source data for new and existing analyses. • Partner with data visualization specialists to populate dashboards and reports with accurate, correctly structured data. • Apply working knowledge of health care reimbursement and claims structures to ensure analyses are methodologically sound. • Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests and support ad hoc data requests and special projects as needed. • Support data infrastructure efforts surrounding data assets, including data ingestion, quality control, technical documentation, and interfacing with data vendor to resolve issues as needed. • Promote and present findings and tailored data products to various audiences of all data literacy lev
