About this role

Sr. Engineer 2 – 11150 Location: Fort Worth, TX Contract: 8 months (Possible Extension) Work Model: Hybrid – Onsite 3 days/week Interview: Round 1 – Virtual: 45-minute technical evaluation focused on the candidate's development experience and technical depth. Round 2 – In Person: Mandatory onsite system/design round. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a strong senior Java engineer with distributed systems experience, not just a Java application developer. They should have deep hands-on experience with Java + Kafka + MongoDB and be comfortable designing systems that operate across Azure and IBM cloud environments. The candidate should be able to participate in a system/design discussion, explain architectural decisions, identify scalability and reliability risks, and propose practical solutions. Job Description We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Java, Kafka, MongoDB, and multi-cloud environments to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on Java development experience, solid distributed systems knowledge, and the ability to design reliable, high-performing solutions across cloud environments. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and document enterprise software applications and technical solutions. • Develop scalable backend applications using Java. • Build and maintain event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka. • Work with MongoDB for high-volume and distributed data requirements. • Design and implement solutions across multi-cloud environments, including Azure and IBM Cloud. • Apply Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) and established Java design patterns. • Design enterprise integrations and distributed systems using appropriate integration patterns. • Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex technical and production issues. • Identify and address technical debt, scalability, latency, reliability, and durability challenges. • Design so
