Hi, Please let me know your interest in the below position Role: Sr. Java Developer Location: Alexandria, VA Duration: 12 months contract Pay rate: $80/hr on C2C Job ID: WMATA - Senior Software Developer - 815069 Client: WMATA Inperson Interview and 100% onsite 8 years of experience required Only local to DMV area Description: WMATA requires one (1) Programmer Analyst 3 to provide application development, systems analysis, maintenance, integration, testing, and production support for the MetroAlerts (Alerts 3.0) platform and related customer service alerting systems. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise applications. The role involves working on real-time data processing, system integrations, cloud-native applications, and transit-related systems. Basic understanding of OpenTripPlanner (OTP), General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS), and GTFS-Realtime would be a great plus but not required. Required Technical Skills • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with strong proficiency in Java. • Extensive experience with Java 11/17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and RESTful API development. • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous processing. • Experience developing microservices and integrating distributed enterprise applications. • Experience with JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, and third-party API integrations. • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL. • Experience troubleshooting application performance, memory utilization, and production issues. • Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and supporting applications hosted in Microsoft Azure. • Exp
