Senior Software Engineer, Backend & AI-Assisted Development Location: Remote, USA (Eastern/Central/Mountain Time Zone only) Salary: $155,000-$170,000 annually Experience: 10+ years of professional software engineering experience Key Skills: Backend Development, APIs, NodeJS/Python, NoSQL database, AWS, AI-assisted programming tools, such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Visa sponsorship is not available. Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep backend development expertise and hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted programming tools to design, build, and operate production software. This role emphasizes ownership of APIs, services, data models, and cloud-based applications, with a strong focus on writing high-quality, secure, and maintainable code. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who uses AI coding assistants to accelerate development, improve productivity, and solve complex engineering problems while maintaining strong technical judgment and code quality. You will collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team to architect solutions, deliver scalable applications, and continuously improve development practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and own backend APIs, services, and application architecture using Python, Node.js, Java, or similar technologies. Leverage AI-assisted programming tools throughout the software development lifecycle to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and problem-solving. Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, query optimization, and production performance tuning. Build, deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud-based applications, with an emphasis on AWS, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
