This is a direct-hire opportunity to own the accounting function for a property portfolio, leveraging your Yardi skills and management experience in a stable, growth-focused environment. About the Role: As Accounting Manager, you will oversee all property-level accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and a timely month-end close for a residential real estate portfolio. You will manage and develop a team of accountants, refine processes, and partner with operations and leadership to provide clear, reliable financial insights that support business planning and performance. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee day-to-day property accounting activities for a residential real estate portfolio, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all transactions. • Review property-level financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, prior to final submission. • Lead and manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and review of key accounts. • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants, providing guidance, feedback, and training where needed. • Maintain and optimise Yardi-based accounting processes, including system setups, property configurations, and reporting structures. • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards within the real estate environment. • Collaborate with property management and senior leadership to explain financial results, variances, and trends. • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.
