Senior Property Accountant Location: McLean, VA Compensation: $85,000–$115,000 Base + Discretionary Bonus Potential (3–5%) Schedule: Onsite for the first 90 days, followed by a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) About the Opportunity We are partnering with an established, privately held commercial real estate organization in the Northern Virginia area seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in commercial real estate and property-level accounting who enjoys taking ownership of an assigned portfolio, preparing financial statements, and working closely with accounting leadership. The organization offers a stable business environment, strong mentorship, and opportunities for professional development and internal advancement. Key Responsibilities • Manage general ledger accounting activities for an assigned portfolio of commercial real estate properties. • Support monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial statements, including variance analysis. • Develop monthly financial reporting packages for property owners and lender compliance. • Maintain balance sheet schedules related to capital improvements, straight-line rent, depreciation, and other property-level accounts. • Monitor property-level cash flow and prepare monthly management fee billings. • Prepare lender draw packages in accordance with financing requirements. • Assist with annual property budgeting, financial analysis, and supporting schedules. • Prepare year-end audit and tax packages and respond to related requests. • Collaborate with Controllers and accounting leadership on special projects and process improvements.
